1. Who we are
Locava ("we", "our", "us") operates a network of hyperlocal business discovery platforms across India under the locava.in parent domain. The platforms covered by this policy are:

2. Information we collect
From visitors (customers browsing any Locava platform):
- Browser type, device type, and approximate location (city-level only, via IP address)
- Pages visited, deals clicked, WhatsApp button taps, and search terms (anonymous analytics)
- Category platform visited (bar, cafe, gym, restaurant, or store)
From business owners (venue listings across all verticals):
- Business name, address, phone number, WhatsApp number, and email
- SPOC (Single Point of Contact) name and contact details
- Business photos, descriptions, menus/service lists, opening hours, and deal information
- Business category (bar, cafe, gym, restaurant, or store)
- Billing information (processed via third-party payment gateway — we do not store card numbers)
From contact / listing enquiry forms:
- Name, email, phone number, business details, and the message you submit via any Locava enquiry form
3. How we use your information
- To display your venue listing and deals to customers on the relevant Platform vertical
- To contact you about your enquiry, subscription, content updates, or Platform changes
- To send venue page performance analytics to business owners (page views, WhatsApp taps, deal impressions)
- To improve each Platform vertical based on aggregate, anonymised usage data
- To comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian law
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not serve advertising based on personal profiles.
4. WhatsApp connections
When a customer taps a WhatsApp button on any Locava venue page, they are redirected directly to WhatsApp to message the venue's SPOC. Locava does not see, store, or intercept these conversations. The relationship is entirely between the customer and the venue.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics across all Platform verticals. We use:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised pageview and event data per domain (each vertical may have its own GA4 Measurement ID)
- Essential cookies — required for the Platform to function (session state, preferences)
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or remarketing tags. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with:
- Web3Forms — processes listing enquiry form submissions on our behalf
- Payment processors — for subscription billing (they have their own privacy policies)
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage data only, per domain vertical
- Legal authorities — if required by Indian law or a valid legal process
7. Data retention
Venue listing data is retained for as long as your subscription is active, plus 30 days after cancellation (to allow reactivation). Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Analytics data is retained for 26 months in aggregate, anonymised form.
8. Cross-domain data
If your business is listed across multiple Locava verticals (e.g., a venue listed on both locava.bar and locava.restaurant), data from each listing is stored and managed separately. We do not automatically combine listings across verticals without your explicit request.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to processing for direct marketing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@locava.in. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children's privacy
Our Platform is not directed at children under 18 (note: locava.bar by nature lists venues serving alcohol — minors should not use that platform). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. Contact privacy@locava.in if you believe a minor has submitted data to us.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. Report suspected security issues to security@locava.in.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered venue owners of material changes via email. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
